Professor Menon Receives Emerging Health Politics Scholar Award

Anil Menon is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of California - Merced whose comparative work at the intersection of health policy and political science are widely regarded by scholars in the section as providing major contributions that blend scientific rigor, real world impact, and global scope. His scholarship on right-wing populism and health vulnerability, COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, and gun violence has appeared in top outlets in the discipline and the health policy subfield, and he has actively translated this scholarship into policy reports for external audiences to include the WHO’s European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. In addition, he has collaborated with health organizations to make recommendations to improve their practice and patient outcomes and make service contributions to the section including service as the program co-chair this year.
