Bio:
Cameron DeHart’s teaching and research interests focus broadly on state and local politics in the United States. His current research catalogues the emergency powers available to policymakers in all 50 states, D.C., and the territories, and explores the development of those powers over the last century and their uses during the COVID-19 pandemic. DeHart’s other research focuses on the development of representative institutions across time, from state and local elections to legislative seats for American Indian tribes and U.S. territories.
He received his PhD in Political Science in 2020 from Stanford University, where he specialized in American and comparative politics. DeHart also holds an M.A. in Political Science from Stanford, and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from The Ohio State University.
