Celebrating Newly Tenured Political Science Faculty: Hibbing and Huang

The UC Merced Political Science faculty is celebrating the promotions of Matthew Hibbing and Haifeng Huang to Associate Professor with tenure, effective July 1st 2017. Congratulations to both!

Prof. Hibbing joined the faculty in 2011, having completed his Ph.D at the University of Illinois. His path-breaking work on political psychology, in particular at the intersection of human physiology, genetics, personality and political attitudes, has been featured in numerous journals and edited editions, from the American Political Science Review to Science. Prof. Huang joined the faculty in 2010, having completed his Ph.D at the Duke University, and working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University. His research, published in among others the American Political Science Review, the British Journal of Political Science, and the Journal of Theoretical Politics, has transformed the recent study of Chinese political economy.
